Globally, our network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices in more than 100 countries, delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for our customers’ operations and supply chains.

In India, Intertek started its journey in 1993 with its Softlines business, then called Consumer Goods. The first Textile and Apparel testing lab was started with about 25 employees. 

The next year, Commodities (present day Caleb Brett/ Analytical Assessment/ Minerals and Agri) business line was made operational though SeaScan.

In 1997, Intertek India was officially incorporated with New Delhi becoming the corporate head office.

In the 2000s, the Electricals business line was started with a lab in New Delhi, Business Assurance was started with the acquisition of KPMG’s quality registrar unit, Chemical and Pharma business line was started with the acquisition of CIBA expert services, and the first Intertek India Food Lab was opened.

From humble beginnings, Intertek India is now serving customers across the industry spectrum with close to 3000 employees operating out of 26+ labs and 32 offices spanning the length and breadth of India.
